The TRAUB MS12-4 is a revolutionary multi-spindle sliding/fixed headstock turning machine that combines the single spindle mindset with the high productivity of a multi-spindle turning machine.

The introduction of the TRAUB MS12-4 fundamentally changes the machine's architecture. Instead of a conventional indexing drum, the machine condenses the capabilities of four independent TRAUB TNL12 single-spindle sliding headstock lathes into a single, vertically stacked footprint. The configuration includes four primary spindles, four tool turrets, up to four counter spindles, and up to four flexible tool carriers.
Because each of the four stations functions independently, they concurrently produce fully finished parts rather than passing a single workpiece along a shared timeline. This shift allows manufacturers to optimize a broader, more complex variety of components without worrying about uneven cycle-time distribution.

Furthermore, because each integrated spindle features a sliding headstock, the system brings high-output multi-spindle productivity to thin, precise parts like medical bone screws and miniature electrical pins. By utilizing a modular layout, manufacturers can customize the internal configuration to match their exact production requirements, scaling up throughput within a highly compact footprint.
