Harvey Performance Company produces tens of thousands of precision cutting tools, where on-time delivery depends on executing production plans with precision. At its Meridian, Idaho facility, reliance on manual data entry, outdated cycle time estimates, and a custom-built MES limited real-time visibility on the factory floor -- leading to a consistent gap between ERP plans and actual output.
By implementing MachineMetrics Intelligent MES, Harvey bridged this disconnect, linking CNC machines, operators, and its Epicor Kinetic ERP into a unified, real-time environment. Operators were equipped with a simple interface at each machine to launch jobs, track downtime, and record production counts, while machine and labor data automatically synced back to Epicor. This removed delays in reporting, increased data reliability, and gave supervisors instant insight into operations.
With trustworthy cycle times and up-to-the-minute machine data, Harvey brought planning and execution into alignment. Schedulers could respond to problems as soon as they arose, operators had clear direction on priorities, and engineers leveraged accurate data to refine routings and optimize workflows. As a result, the Meridian facility boosted schedule attainment by over 25%.
Building on this success, Harvey is expanding MachineMetrics across its operations, combining Intelligent MES with new Max AI capabilities to support ongoing improvements and create a more adaptive, real-time manufacturing environment.
