Micro5 XL Delivers 5-Axis Precision within a Compact 1.7 Square Meter Footprint
The new Micro5 XL from the CHIRON Group offers a larger work envelope without losing the "micro" philosophy that makes the line unique.This machine is built specifically for those in medical technology, electronics, and high-end mold making who need to balance tight tolerances with increased part complexity.
The "XL" designation refers to its expanded machining cube, which now handles parts up to 120 x 120 x 120 mm.
Despite the larger capacity, the machine still occupies a remarkably small 1.7 m² of floor space. Inside that compact frame, you get a high-speed spindle capable of 50,000 rpm, providing the surface finishes and tiny feature definitions required for micro-scale engineering.
To keep the machine running through complex jobs without manual intervention, it can house up to 100 tools, a significant jump for a machine this size.
Beyond the raw specs, the Micro5 XL is designed for the operator. Its front-oriented layout makes setup more ergonomic, while the optional integrated automation allows for "lights-out" production in modern factory environments.
Because it is highly resource-efficient, it uses a fraction of the energy and space of traditional machining centers while maintaining the high dynamics needed for short cycle times, according to the company.
