For years, the conversation around North American manufacturing was defined by what was being lost. Today, the narrative has shifted to what is coming back. To celebrate this momentum, the Reshoring Initiative and a coalition of industry giants have officially opened applications for the 9th National Metalworking Reshoring Award.

This isn't your typical corporate trophy; it is a high-stakes recognition of companies that have successfully transitioned production from overseas back to North American soil. Whether you are a small job shop, a specialized contract manufacturer, or a global OEM, the competition is designed to highlight the tangible impact of bringing work home.
Judges aren't just looking for intent; they are looking for results. The criteria focus on hard data: the number of jobs created, the dollar value of sales recovered from offshore, and the capital investment injected into local facilities. Innovation also plays a starring role -- companies that have used advanced machining, casting, or additive manufacturing to make reshoring economically viable are top contenders.
To be eligible, the work must have returned to North America between January 2010 and April 2026. This wide window allows companies to showcase long-term strategic shifts that have finally matured into success stories.
Winners will be announced at IMTS 2026 in Chicago this September. If your team has turned the tide on offshoring, now is the time to submit your application before the April 30, 2026, deadline.
