New swiss-type automatic lathe perfect for small, complex parts
Star CNC Machine Tool Corp. has announced the arrival of the NEW, high-performance SD-26 Swiss-type automatic lathe developed specifically to serve the high precision machining requirements for complex, small parts up to one-inch (26mm) diameter for automotive, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment and medical-related products.
The SD-26 Type S is equipped with double B-axis programmable units: The B-1 axis is a 4-spindle milling unit with 135-degrees of travel capable of programming simultaneous 5-axis control. The B-2 axis provides identical capability for various tooling units, including the industry's first twin-thread whirling unit incorporating a brake to maintain rigidity while machining.

In addition, the SD-26 machine has features designed to offer enhanced workability and operability for the operator from both a hardware and software perspective, such as a reconfigured machine structure for improved access to the guide bush and tool post, a function for batch input/output of NC programs together with related information such as offset data, and various help functions including a command help function that allows you to check the various commands on the NC screen.
