Automated laser system uses robot arm for high-speed cleaning and stripping

Based on the high-performance LaserCell platform, IPG Photonics' LaserCell 2000 Automated Laser Cleaning System is a system purpose-built for surface processing applications. Laser surface processing offers high-speed cleaning, coating removal, stripping, and texturing for a wide variety of materials and part geometries.

The LaserCell 2000 utilizes a 6-axis robotic arm that can be used to either move incoming parts underneath a static laser scanner or move the scanner around a fixtured part. A configurable design enables efficient processing for various part shapes and sizes.

Lasers vaporize, sublimate, or quickly burn away surface contaminants. Only the surface layer is removed with no contamination or degradation of the underlying material.

Laser cleaning is a high-speed, highly repeatable process that eliminates the need for expensive and environmentally unfriendly abrasives or chemicals.

LaserCell systems are powered by fully integrated IPGCore system software built with .NET Core and Javascript for flexibility and longevity. A dynamic screen size layout and intuitive workflow allows for simple operator-level usability.
