Murata's Advanced, Twin-Spindle, CNC Turning Center for Bar-Feed Applications Hits North American Market

Murata Machinery's MT1065EX will be making its North American debut at the Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS) 2025 in April. The company believes this machine will redefine bar-fed machining applications with its advanced twin-spindle, CNC turning capabilities.

Designed for bar-fed machining applications, the MT1065EX features two spindles and two live-tool turrets, with Y-axis functionality in the upper turret for enhanced versatility. It accommodates 6 or 8-inch chucks powered by an 18.5-kW left spindle motor and a 15-kW right spindle motor, ensuring robust performance across demanding applications.

Each turret offers 12 tool stations with 24 index positions, allowing independent machining operations or synchronized pinch-turning and milling. The MT1065EX's compact design optimizes floor space while delivering superior machining capabilities.

"The MT1065EX represents the next evolution in CNC turning technology," said Jeff Kalmbach, General Manager of Muratec's Machine Tools Division. "This machine's combination of dual spindles, live-tool turrets, and advanced thermal compensation provides unmatched accuracy and operational flexibility, making it an ideal solution for both high-volume and high-mix, low-volume production environments."
