Measurement Arm's Swappable Probes Provide "One Size Fits All" Solution for 3D Metrology Applications

FARO's Quantum Max non-contact measurement arm is designed to provide accurate scans for precision-critical areas and maintain high-speed production for other parts. It offers multiple hot-swappable Laser Lines Probes (LLPs) -- xR, xP, and xS -- to cater to a range of small and medium-sized measurement needs, ensuring users don't need to compromise on speed, accuracy, or resolution.

Each LLP is enhanced with FARO CLR (Continuous Light Rectification) technology, which provides users with the highest-quality scan data on dark, translucent, and reflective surfaces. This reduces the need for sprays, time-consuming surface preparation, and cleanup while avoiding finished product contamination.

The Quantum Max product line includes models ranging from 2 meters to 4 meters. The 2-meter Quantum Max, when combined with the xR LLP, is recognized for its high accuracy and is considered one of the top scan arm options available in the industry. Its precision and versatility expand the range of potential applications for the technology, offering the potential for increased return on investment, expanded project opportunities, and improved customer satisfaction.

The Quantum Max is also compatible with FARO CAM2® Software and its Repeat Part Management feature, enabling pre-programmed guided inspection routines. The operators can now carry out the same inspection routine, reducing variability and increasing repeatability.

Faster troubleshooting and root-cause analysis with Quantum Max enables teams to make informed, accurate decisions faster. FARO also offers an exclusive 8-axis integration for users to quickly measure all sides of a part without repositioning: the unique 8-Axis Max rotary table. The processes contribute to a higher production rate, decreased bottlenecks, consistent outcomes, and improved yield.

The arm is also compatible with industry-standard third-party software, in addition to CAM2, allowing for a seamless transition for users familiar with those software packages. This compatibility caters to a variety of existing manufacturing workflows, including quality control and reverse engineering.
