Enhanced touch

Delcam' s PowerMILL offers a power tool-axis editing function, enhancing the speed and dexterity of five-axis machining. Users can select any region of a toolpath and redefine the axis vectors in that area. Creating new paths

Mastercam' s developer X2MR2 automates the machining process, offering shops speed improvements and allowing for reductions in programming time. It will also include features such as a new Peel Milling toolpath, an Operations Manager pane, a Create Boundary function, and multiaxis enhancements in the advanced multiaxis toolpaths. Common edge optimization in nesting is supported as well. Mastercam is a fully integrated CAM that runs seamlessly in SolidWorks. Its users can program their parts directly within SolidWorks using Mastercam' s toolpaths and machining strategies.

SolidCAM offers users a shorter learning curve

SolidCAM, with its single-window integration in SolidWorks, allows all machining operations to be easily defined, calculated and verified. All geometries used for machining are fully associative with the SolidWorks design model. When the geometry of a part is modified, SolidCAM enables the user to automatically synchronize all machining operations with the updated geometry. Easy to operate

TRUMPF' s TruTops Mark is a marking software which allows users to program simple sequences, which are programmed and stored in work piece files to be used as needed for recurring tasks. The CAD editor can draw and arrange graphic objects, while the integrated converter imports DXF/DWG, HPGL and IGES data formats, and BMP, TIF, JPG, and PCX pixel formats. All laser parameters can be stored in a separate dialogue and with the integrated interface, one can take over variable production data in a pre-defined marking program online. TruTops Mark uses only one interface for all its operations, leading to high quality marking results.

Virtual machine tool software kit

Siemens PLM Software Virtual Machine Tool Software Kit enables a machine tool builder to create a virtual version of their machine tool. Much like an aviation simulator, it frees up the real equipment for production activity, allowing pre-run preparation to be done in a safe, cost-effective environment.

Machine tool builders can build virtual machines of their advanced machine tools that are equipped with the Sinumerik 840D controller. The Virtual Machine combines three software technologies: the core Sinumerik controller software, the controller' s user interface and 3D machine tool simulation software. When combined, they provide a comprehensive digital representation of a machine tool.

Virtual testing environment

Deform 3D 6.1.2 is the newest engineering software system for analyzing chip forming process in machining. It provides a virtual testing environment in which engineers can study the influence of tool geometry, cutting conditions, and other factors on machining process performance. By reducing the need for production trials, companies recognize lower development costs and shorter lead times for new products and processes. Deform features enhancements in milling analysis, as well as the addition of several popular aerospace materials and stainless grades to the 50-plus materials already in the material library.
