Velo3d has released a new video showing someone reach into the build chamber of a metal AM machine and pull parts out of a powder-bed -- without any support structures tying them to a build plate.
New technology from Velo3d omits the need for both supports and plate, allowing up to 700 percent more parts to be stacked to achieve full build volume. Think about the implications this has for a production environment.
Support structures have rendered certain designs unprintable for the past 20 years. Velo3d' proprietary process enables users to "break the 45 degree rule" and print the most complex geometries with a significant reduction in post-processing steps (no wire EDM or stress relief required).
