The part pictured on the right was awarded "Most Innovative Part" at the Shot Show held last month in Las Vegas.
Typically, most manufacturers would go the conventional method and machine this amazing part in 5 operations, with 5 inspections and handling.
But not Eurotech engineer, Chip Bienia of New England Tool. Chip got creative and found a way to take this large part down to one set up on the Eurotech Trofeo B645Y2 Turn/Mill Center, eliminating set-ups, inspections, handling and labor, and barfeed extrusion. The part was completely finished in one operation in only 18 minutes.
"With the Eurotech Trofeo machine, Bienia was able to simply load the barstock. No losing tolerance, no clamping or unclamping, and with 30,000 rpm live tools, two tools in the cut and pinch mill, the Eurotech technology gave us a perfect unmanned part," said Roy Selway, co-owner of family-owned Eurotech Elite.
