Available from German Machine Tools of America (GMTA), a full line of Samag multi spindle machining centers and deep hole drilling machines has now been introduced to the North American market. Used primarily for high-volume parts and deep hole drilling, these machines are ideal for the automotive powertrain, truck, and off-highway markets.
Samag, based in Saalfeld, Germany, with offices and service centers worldwide, engineers and builds a variety of multi-spindle machines -- the MFZ Series for high volume cubic work pieces and the modular WBM Series for rotary parts and shafts up to six spindle deep drilling.
Generally, the newly developed MFZ Series starts with180 spindle distance for smaller parts and goes up to 840 for large work pieces and is available with 2, 3 or 4 spindles and linear or ball screw driven technology.
Samag is a world class supplier for multi spindle equipment and just underlined the market position with the first two spindle machine in the world with individual X, Y and Z axis movements.
On the WBM series, Samag developed special solutions for drilling engine valves and gear shafts for several tier one engine and gear manufacturers worldwide.
GMTA Vice President Scott Knoy commented, "This new partner dramatically expands our capability to deliver the whole process for several key parts in the automotive market. Plus, with deep drilling technology and the combination machine concepts, we will be able to offer significant advantages to our current and potential customer base. We're excited to have the Samag name and reputation for quality machine tools added to our family."
