Bandsaw Delivers High Precision Sawing and Keeps Leftover Waste to a Minimum

Kalamazoo Machine Tool Model H6 SA bandsaw is a double column semi-automatic mitering saw engineered to provide high precision sawing in a demanding production environment.

The saw features an extremely heavy mono weldment saw frame canted 6°, which is especially productive when sawing structural materials, and can miter from 0°-60°. All functions are fully hydraulic, and sawfeed controls utilize precision control valves. A freestanding control console allows convenient placement by the operator.

The saw features two vises on the infeed side to ensure the material is clamped and never released during all feeding and sawing operations. The material feeder is controlled by a variable speed inverter drive motor that turns a roller ball screw and ball nut with a large number of re-circulating ball bearings. This produces a very low coefficient of friction and stabilization in both up/down and left/right directions. The material feeder vise and saw vise are designed to yield the smallest possible remnant end, keeping leftover waste to an absolute minimum.

The H6 SA saw has a 1 ¼ x 17' 5" blade operating at 60 -360 FPM. Material work height is 32 ¼", with a vise opening of 23 ½". Capacities are 20" at 90°, 17 ½" at 45° and 9 ½" at 60°.
